Capital One has unveiled its forthcoming lineup of BJ’s Wholesale Club credit cards, which the issuer will be sending out early next month. The new cards can be activated beginning February 27, 2023.
The new Capital One and BJ’s cobranded collection will include two personal credit cards and one business card. Customers who currently hold a Comenity-issued BJ’s card will be automatically transitioned to a corresponding Capital One product.
The BJ’s One Mastercard will be replacing the BJ’s Perks Plus Mastercard. BJ’s One will offer 3% back in rewards on most BJ’s purchases, 1.5% back in rewards everywhere else, and 10 cents off per gallon at BJ’s Gas.
The BJ’s One+ Mastercard will replace the BJ’s Perks Elite Mastercard. BJ’s One+ will offer 5% back in rewards on most BJ’s purchases, 2% back in rewards everywhere else, and 15 cents off per gallon at BJ’s Gas.
The BJ’s Business Elite Mastercard will replace both the BJ’s Business Perks Plus Mastercard and BJ’s Business Perks Elite Mastercard.. BJ’s Business Elite will offer 5% back in rewards on most BJ’s purchases, 2% back in rewards everywhere else, and 15 cents off per gallon at BJ’s Gas.
Both personal cards are in the World Mastercard tier, while the business offering carries World Elite Mastercard status. None of the new cards assess annual fees or foreign transaction fees.
Current cardholders will continue earning awards under the Comenity program until February 24, 2023. On that date, any unexpired awards will convert to rewards under the Capital One program, and cardholders will start earning rewards under the new program. Previously, unused awards under the Comenity program would expire six months from the date they were earned. Under the Capital One program, converted and earned rewards will never expire.
If you are a current cardholder, your BJ’s member ID will not change. However, you will need to update digital wallets and other mobile and contactless payment methods with your new card information after February 27, 2023.
